A First for Vital Woodcraft: Custom Countertop Contract Completed

This week marked a big first for Vital Woodcraft — our very first contract build. We just wrapped up the installation of a custom ash butcher block countertop, paired with a matching ash backsplash and finished using our new favorite method: Clean Armor UV-cured resin.

This was more than just a surface. It was a chance to see how our methods and materials hold up in a real-world kitchen setting — and they performed beautifully. The natural warmth of ash really shines through, and the Clean Armor finish provides a rock-solid, food-safe surface without harsh chemicals or long dry times. It cured in seconds, left no smell, and gave us a crystal-clear finish with just the right amount of depth.

We’ve also made a few updates to our Etsy shop, including new pricing adjustments as we fine-tune what works for small-batch production. Our shop is still in soft launch mode, but we’re steadily adding new products and refining listings based on what we’re learning.
